Was it an insane idea to visit Laos? I did not liked the idea at first but I did enjoyed Laos in the end. The people there are nice. Anyway, here’s my crew for Laos. We covered 3 places (Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang and Vientiane) in Laos over a period of 5 days. My favourite out of these three is Luang PraBang.
Our first stop was Vang Vieng and we spent 2 nights there. We signed up for a full day activity package for 35 USD which consists of kayaking, tubing, zip-lining, entry to waterfall, lunch and 2-way transport from our hotel. It is extremely value for money. We skipped the famous Vang Vieng challenge because I am not up to it. Staying in the jungle is just, not my forte.
Pictures taken during our road trip from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang
We arrived at Luang Prabang after a 5-hour drive from Vang Vieng where we saw the iconic Kuang Si Waterfall and the sunset followed by dinner and shopping at the night market. Paintings, hand-made items, summer clothing and coffee/tea sachets can be found at the night market. We went home with all the above mentioned items.
We flew from Luang Prabang to Vientiane because it would take a 9-hour drive if we were to travel by car. Our last stop was Vientiane and we spent 1 night there. We did some sight-seeing around the city followed by dinner and shopping at the night market, again. I personally perfer the night market at Luang Prabang because it sells more authentic Lao stuff. Notice my outfit in the picture above, both dress and slippers were from the Luang Prabang night market.
Our days at Luang Prabang and Vientiane were short because we only had one night each at those 2 places. We also enjoyed cheap Lao massage at 60,000kip (SGD 11) for 1 hour. The weather in Laos was really warm and humid.
That concluded our trip to Laos.
